WHAT SIZE OF VAN WILL I GET?
One (or both) of our Peugeot Boxer Low Loaders - modified especially for house moves. The vans have 24m3 of loading space in the back. Lots of space to fit most houses in one load. Click here for more details.
HOW LONG WILL MY REMOVAL TAKE?
Most local moves take between two and four hours (excluding key waiting time), but every job is different. There are several factors that affect the time it takes to complete a removal. Access tends to be the biggest factor to slow a removal down. The more prepared you are the quicker the job will take.
WHAT ARE THE MAIN THINGS I NEED TO DO IN PREPARATION FOR YOUR ARRIVAL?
Fridges need emptying and defrosting, washing machines should be taken out, triple wardrobes and tables need taking down, all walkways and doors need to be clear and there needs to be two car parking spaces to accommodate our van. Take a look at our House moving tips section for more information.
Please note that we do not dismantle and rebuild wardrobes and beds, however we will take tables down and plumb washing machines in. If you do need items dismantling and reassembling please contact us for a quote from our specialist handyman.
WILL YOU REMOVE RUBBISH?
No. We do not have a waste disposal licence and as such do not offer a waste removal service.
HOW DO I PAY FOR MY REMOVAL?
We accept cash or card payments on the day of the move.
Please note for bookings over £200 we do request a 20% deposit to confirm your booking (a 50% deposit is required on long distance moves). See terms and conditions for further details regarding deposits.
HOW MUCH NOTICE DO YOU REQUIRE FOR A HOUSE REMOVAL?
Household Removals are usually booked between 1-2 weeks before the expected move takes place. Please always try to give as much notice as possible. We cannot usually accommodate last minute bookings but we'll try when possible. Do not fully book your removal until you are sure everything is in place with the sale and purchase of your house.
DO I HAVE TO EMPTY MY DRAWERS?
As long as there are no heavy or breakable items left in drawers then it is usually ok to leave them full. Some types of furniture like self assembly units don’t travel well and it is advised that you empty these completely and dismantle them. As long as the furniture itself is sturdy then items like clothing and bedding can and should be left in.
DO YOU CHARGE WAITING TIME?
Each of our job prices has an allotted time (usually 10am-5pm, but may be different for long distance moves for example) - which is higher than the average time taken for a job of this size when there are no external issues (such as waiting for keys). Once this time has passed we charge each additional hour at £40.00 per hour, per van.
DO YOU SUPPLY BOXES?
Yes! For all full house moves booked with us, we provide free boxes and fragile tape. We also have a range of additional packaging (wardrobe boxes, bubble wrap, mattress bags, etc.) available to buy.
